Touching hearts. Lifting spirits. Changing lives. These actions embody the essence of the GC4W's Community Development & Empowerment programs, and the initiatives within them, while we strive to make a real difference in “improving the lives of women, girls and the communities in which we serve.”

In 2017 and beyond, the programs and initiatives of the Global Connections for Women foundation is committed to Goal 3, Goal 4 and Goal 5 of the United Nations - Global Goals for Sustainable Development.

 
 

The following pillars of GC4W Community Development & Empowerment Initiatives serve as the foundation for achieving our stated goal of enriching the lives of 250,000 women and girls by the end of 2020.     GC4W offers the opportunity for select leading individuals to give back as a member of our GC4W Champions Program. GC4W Champions are directly involved in mentoring, engaging and supporting the target constituents of the GC4W charter, women and youth. The GC4W Champions includes Ivy League Alumni, MBA Graduates, Educators, Entrepreneurs, Industry Leaders and Social Innovators.

    GC4W believes in empowering in numbers, the GC4W Champions Glennys Martes, Joanna Hull, and Leena Sanzgir emulate and advocate our message of women empowerment.

    As part of the GC4W commitment to advocate for the youth population, the GC4W Campus Affiliate Program is designed to promote the importance of education and activism among the youth by providing an influential leading voice on the issues that impact and can improve their lives. Which includes our partnerships & participation in youth leadership forums and on campus events such as Social Media Week NYC at NYU, Columbia Business School and Columbia Law School Economic Forum.

    The GC4W Annual Toys & School Supplies Drive creates an opportunity lift the spirits of those those in need. GC4W has partnered with leading organizations including Safeway Foods Company, Burlington Coat Factory, Makovsky Company, Levo League, NAAEP, Workingmomsin20s, The Virgin Hair Fantasy, and others – to conduct a holiday toys and books drive for Women in Need Inc. (WIN) and the Oakland Children’s Hospital. Over 3,500 toys and books were donated.

    Women In Need Inc. breaking the circle of homelessness for women and their children. GC4W was proud to donate books and toys to the children at WIN.

    Burlington Coat Factory was among the several organizations that partnered up with GC4W for a successful toy drive.

    GC4W distributed school supplies to the students of the City of Karamajiji, Abuja (Nigeria) and committed to building additional classrooms.

    At GC4W, we recognize that we are not alone in our commitment to service and civic responsibility - the GC4W Outreach & Affiliated Partnership Programs as allows us to partner with an array of leading and like-minded organizations including UN Women, the Clinton Foundation, Clinton Global Initiative, Women In Need Inc. (WIN), The Hope Program, Madison Square Boys & Girls Club, Delete Blood Cancer, and Harvard Crimson Impact - to increase our collective global reach.

    GC4W members take part in the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) Action of Day in New York.

    GC4W joins UN Women on the #HeForShe Campaign initiative, a solidarity movement for gender equality - where Men raise their voices for Gender Equality

    The HeforShe campaign is a great platform to use your voice as a powerful tool to tell the world why equality for every woman and girl is worth fighting for.

    GC4W was invited to join the Host Committee of Delete Blood Cancer DKMS - to raise awareness and participate in fundraising activities.

    The GC4W Leadership and Empowerment Program - true to our role as a forum for the exchange of ideas and values as well as a conduit for interpersonal connections, GC4W continues to invest in the important work of global leadership and empowerment for women and youth. This work includes noteworthy annual events such as the International Women’s Day Awards Gala, the upcoming GC4W Working Moms Expo and Career Webinar Series.

    The 1st annual international GC4W Working Mom Expo is scheduled for Oct 3rd, 2015. #WorkingMomExpo is an opportunity to uplift working moms, mom-entrepreneurs and women business owners.
