The first week of the Entrepreneurship School for Girls launch with key presentations from Facebook, Resolution Project and others. Our E-School for Girls Class of 2015 is nothing less than amazing! I am so inspired by the time, energy and knowledge that has been shared by our very accomplished group of volunteer entrepreneurs, professors and business people to set the girls in the right direction for success. Based on what the girls have learned, experienced and applied in just the first week, we have been able to ensure that there are at least five new entrepreneurial ventures in the world. Look out for these future leaders.” said Allison Wright, E-School for Girls Program Director, President at NYCPromise.

The Global Connections for Women Foundation (GC4W) partnered with NYU CAC, NYCPromise and MiddyFund to organize and design the Entrepreneurship School for Girls Program (E-School for Girls). GC4W and our partners plan to provide high school juniors and seniors with a first class opportunity to advance their educational experience and to ultimately raise the number of women entrepreneurs in our society. The program was sponsored by NYU, Bobble Bottles and Macys.

“We choose to invest in girls as a show of solidarity to the First Lady of the United States, Michelle Obama‘s #LetGirlsLearn global education initiative – and we are thrilled to have already began transforming the lives and attitudes of the girls at the e-school for girls program.” said Lilian O. Ajayi, co-partner of the E-School for Girls Program and the Founder & Executive Director of the Global Connections for Women Foundation.

When we asked the girls how they felt thus far in the program their responses was quite reassuring, and even after the first week of the program – we saw great indication that we are starting to meet our goals. The girls at the e-school school for girls program said they felt “Confident, Excited, Bold, Empowered, Brave, Ambitious, Connected, Prepared, Educated, Courageous and Inspired.”
