GC4W launch Women Empowerment Workshop at Women In Need Inc. (WIN) this Summer.
By Casey Johnson-Aksoy, Director of GC4W Champions Program.
The Global Connection for Women Foundation (GC4W) is excited to announce the launch of the GC4W Women Empowerment Workshop at WIN in partnership with the GC4W Champions and Women In Need inc. (WIN), this Summer.
WIN has been helping homeless New York City women and their children transform their lives for over 30 years, through a progressive and holistic approach that provides options to help them improve their lives. “Win’s life-changing process starts with safe, clean housing and includes vital programs and services – developed to break the cycle of homelessness, so the women and children who are caught in the cycle can look forward to a brighter future.”
GC4W offers the opportunity for select leading professionals to Give Back – as a part of the Champions Program. The GC4W Champions includes Ivy League Alumni, MBA Graduates, Educators, Entrepreneurs, Industry Leaders and Social Innovators – and they are directly involved in mentoring, engaging and supporting the constituents within the organization’s chapters and communities.
On July 7th, 14th and 21st of 2015, the GC4W Champions will be preparing and facilitating the Women Empowerment 3-part Workshop Series that will explore three separate themes: Empowerment, Education, and Career. Our goal is to uplift the women at WIN, and give them the proper tools so they can create and live their best lives. The women at WIN will also receive a “Certificate of Completion” at the end of the workshop.
In 2013, GC4W conducted a toy and book drive for Women in Need Inc. (WIN), and we donated over 800 Toys & School Supplies with the support of leading organizations including Safeway Foods Company, Burlington Coat Factory, Makovsky Company, Levo League, NAAEP, Workingmomsin20s.com, The Virgin Hair Fantasy, and others.
