The Global Connections for Women Foundation held a SOLD OUT event at the 2015 Social Media Week NYC Event title: Mobilizing for Social Impact. gc4wsmw_social media week 2015

The Global Connections for Women Foundation (GC4W) hosts a Social Media Week NYC event for the second time “Mobilizing for Social Impact: A GC4W Socializing Leadership in Millennials & Gen Y Panel” on Thursday, February 26th at 6 pm on NYU Campus. In unison with the many movements being led by Gen Y and Millennials today, GC4W hopes this event will help the audience better understand how social media is key in fueling larger scale social projects, to maximize its reach and goals. If you are a college student, we invite you to come with your social venture idea for a chance to compete for funding.

“Early indicators suggests that Millennials and Gen Y are vital in creating a better world for all. The purpose of this event is to engage their sense of curiosity and mobilize their energy to create agents of change using tools like social media and modern technology to make a real difference in the world. Participants will be exposed to early adopters of this notion – who are prepared to discuss how their organization’s global development projects are supported by unique social media and crowd funding initiatives, and the details of their 2015 humanitarian agendas.”

The GC4W Foundation much like other leading non-profits and NGO’s, is looking at 2015 with the imperative need to focus the world’s attention on what is left to be achieved on the post-2015 United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals. Social Media and Crowdfunding has become the epicenter to share, mobilize support and increase awareness for domestic and global matters such as eradication of poverty, universal healthcare, education for all, women empowerment and gender equality.

“It is the hope of Global Connections for Women Foundation that the attendees will leave feeling inspired and motivated, to take a new position as agents of change – for the world needs more of them” said the GC4W Founder & Executive Director, Lilian Ajayi Ore.

The confirmed speakers of this event include key stakeholders of Charity : WaterJohnson & JohnsonClinton Global InitiativeGlobal Connections for Women foundation (GC4W), Black Enterprise and Change.org.
