One key to a productive day is an effective morning routine that can increase performance and efficiency.

1. Wake Up Early

Waking up early can set the tone for your entire day. Although it can seem impossible, through repetition and determination, waking up early can make a world of difference. Whether you have a class at 8 AM., 11 AM., or 1 PM., waking up early and starting your day ahead of schedule allows you to begin the day earlier. Additionally, waking up early can allow you to have a slow-paced and relaxing morning.

2. Make Your Bed

Although making your bed immediately after you get up in the morning may not seem like a big deal, it makes an immense difference. Not only does it only take a few seconds out of your morning, but it also creates a cleaner environment throughout your room. By getting in the habit of making your bed every morning, you start off your day by already being productive.

3. Water First, Then Tea or Coffee

Starting off your day by consuming water has great benefits to the functions of your body. Furthermore, it is important to re-hydrate with water when you wake up due to the lack of water being consumed throughout the night. You can get in the habit of drinking water once you wake up by keeping a glass or bottle of water by your bed each night before you go to sleep.

4. Throw on Some Tunes

Listening to feel-good songs in the morning can set the tone for your day. Additionally, podcasts are another form of entertainment and a great way to enhance your multitasking abilities all while learning new things.

7. Eat a Hearty Breakfast

When people say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, it is true! Eating breakfast is vital to starting your metabolism for the day, and plays an important role in keeping you full throughout your class(es), especially if they’re early.

Other Ways to Personalize Your Morning Routine:

If you have time before your class, going to the gym is the perfect way to become active and get your body moving in the morning.

2. Read

Reading for fun is possible if you are able to incorporate it into your morning routine! By reading a chapter each morning, or even a page a day, reading can be integrated into the mornings!
