Create & Cultivate brought their highly anticipated conference back to Los Angeles for a one-day event filled with educational and inspiring panels, pop-ups, keynote speakers, mentor power hours, delicious snacks, cocktails and everything loved about Creative & Cultivate experiences. The event attracted young female entrepreneurs from around the world to learn, network and grow. Founder and CEO of Create & Cultivate, Jaclyn Johnson, is known for curating unbeatable keynotes for her female audience. This year’s summit featured Jessica Simpson, Eva Mendes, Jessica Alba, Lauren Conrad And Hannah Skvarla on the keynote stage. 

Simpson, Mendes, Alba, Conrad and Skvarla shared their advice with me on the next generation of female entrepreneurs.

Simpson led the morning keynote sharing her experience growing a billion-dollar company along with the success of her newest #1 New York Times Bestseller “Open Book.” Simpson’s advised young entrepreneurs to recognize the unique qualities of each of their team members and encourage an environment where all ideas are safe, all voices are heard, and all ego is left at home. “No matter how big or small, the best teams all pitch in wherever needed and work toward a common goal so anyone’s success is everyone’s success,” shared Simpson.

Mendes along with New York & Company’s CEO Greg Scott, led the evening keynote on the business of fashion as well as the creative process behind The Eva Mendes Collection in partnership with New York & Company. Mendes, firstly, hopes women can learn from her on what has gone right or wrong from her entrepreneurial journey. “I also hope that the next generation of female entrepreneurs have the freedom to choose to do want they want to do no mater what industry they are in,” said Mendes.

Alba spoke on philanthropy and new product launches for Honest Beauty during her Round Table Keynote with Non-Profit The Little Market’s co-founders Lauren Conrad and Hannah Skvarla. The three powerhouse business women spoke on producing ethical and sustainable products while also giving back, proving that it is possible to do good while creating and cultivating a business with passion. “There are so few men in comparison to women in leadership roles and in business especially women of color,” said Alba. “It’s important to see yourself. I didn’t have a lot of women that I saw on a regular basis in business and it made me feel isolated in my experience as I was developing as an entrepreneur. Although, in the past ten years things have changed even if the stats aren’t showing it- there is an awareness for everyone to see themselves represented. A more diverse boardroom and environment is proven to be better for business.” Alba hopes that in the next ten years that banks and investors start to give women more of a shot in ways that they haven’t before.

Non-Profit The Little Market co-founders shared the keynote stage with Alba on operating as an ethical and sustainable business while also giving back. Conrad and Skvarla advised women to find ways to do good with there business “There are so many different ways to follow your passion and do good with your business,” said Conrad. “In the next decade I would love to see more women-led businesses and businesses that support women with equal pay,” shared Conrad. Skvarla added “I hope to see more women in leadership roles.”
