Alba spoke on philanthropy and new product launches for Honest Beauty during her Round Table Keynote with Non-Profit The Little Market’s co-founders Lauren Conrad and Hannah Skvarla. The three powerhouse business women spoke on producing ethical and sustainable products while also giving back, proving that it is possible to do good while creating and cultivating a business with passion. “There are so few men in comparison to women in leadership roles and in business especially women of color,” said Alba. “It’s important to see yourself. I didn’t have a lot of women that I saw on a regular basis in business and it made me feel isolated in my experience as I was developing as an entrepreneur. Although, in the past ten years things have changed even if the stats aren’t showing it- there is an awareness for everyone to see themselves represented. A more diverse boardroom and environment is proven to be better for business.” Alba hopes that in the next ten years that banks and investors start to give women more of a shot in ways that they haven’t before.
