Our Keynote and Expert Guest Speakers:
About the GC4W Virtual MasterClass Event on Advancing Pay Equity: From the Great Resignation to Great Retention.
The global pandemic has inevitably expanded the complexities around advancing gender equity in most workplaces. One of the biggest threats to this agenda is the allure of widened pay and promotion inequities for women in the workforce. According to HBR, nearly 3 million women have exited the workforce at the start of 2021, compared to the previous year, resulting in a 33-year low in women’s participation in the labor market. This 33-year low trends are alarming for “women account for at least 50% of the most talented part of the workforce and women are at the top of the curve on IQ, emotional intelligence, creativity, and leadership skills.” McKinsey and Oxford Economics estimated that the increase in female talent scarcity will continue until 2024 before we can start to return to pre-pandemic levels. The need to re-build and re-address the current threats to gender equity is why the Global Connections for Women Foundation created a unique virtual event to bridge the knowledge gap.
Our keynote speaker and guest expert panelists include Dr. Chantal Line Carpentier, Ph.D. Chief at United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD); Femi Olu-Lafe Ph.D., IPG SVP at Global Culture and Diversity; Justin P. Phalichanh, SVP at Global Talent Development & Product Enablement, and Cristina Ackas, Vice President, Inclusive Diversity at Octagon Sports and Entertainment Network. The panel discussion will include the following topics: 1) recommendations for a new corporate policy on gender equity, 2) addressing the female talent scarcity, 3) dissolving the disparities in pay equity and Promotability, and 4) exploring an actionable DEI game plan.
