GC4W Co-Sponsor the International Day for Education Event on Friday, November 30th at the UN Trusteeship Council. On Friday, 30 November 2018, from 3:00-6:00 pm, the Global Connections for Women Foundation and SV-NED Inc. is proud to Co-Sponsor the International Day of Education event at the United Nations Trusteeship Council in partnership with the Permanent Missions of Nigeria, other United Nations Missions and Organizations.

The objectives of the International Day for Education Event include:

  • 1) To create awareness and build momentum for the adoption 0f the International Day of Education.
  • 2) To bring the Member States, policymakers, scholars, the private sector, students and other stakeholders into a discussion aimed at enhancing focus on inclusive education through the celebration of the International Day of Education,
  • 3) To support the on-going efforts by the UN to facilitate inclusive education for all and leave no one behind.

The event will involve High-level opening remarks, panel discussions, and interventions from the floor.

The high-level remarks will feature goodwill messages from the Permanent Missions of Nigeria and those other co-sponsoring countries, as well as heads of relevant UN Organizations. The panel discussions will have two (2) separate interactive thematic dialogues on (i) ‘Importance of International Day of Education to Global Development’ and (ii) ‘Facilitating Inclusive Education for all through Technological Innovation’. These will be followed by interventions from the floor from relevant UN Agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders.
